Quiz question: HOW MUCH REVENUE INCREASE DID THE NEW QUIZ BROTHERS SITE GENERATE?
Sometimes a new, contemporary, and user-friendly website has been on your wish list for a while, but you just don't get around to it. That was the case, for example, for Jan Duijndam from Quiz Brothers. Now that the website has been live for about two months, and both sales and the number of requests have increased by about 25%, he is only wondering why he didn't get around to it sooner. Short case description
The situation
The three brothers Jan, Cies, and Joachim Duijndam had been fans of pub quizzes for years. They just thought it was a shame that those quizzes were often too difficult and therefore not always fun for everyone. That's why they persuaded a pub owner to organize a quiz night there. That became a great success, and that's how Quiz Brothers was born. When the pubs had to close due to the corona crisis, they started organizing online quizzes. There turned out to be a great deal of interest in this, and almost a year later it is still going well. You can now even order DIY quiz packages and music bingo packages. They had actually had a new website on their wish list for a while. They just didn't get around to it.
Meanwhile, it was high time to automate some workflows. On the one hand, that would make the site even more user-friendly and, on the other hand, save the team a lot of manual work.
Jan Duijndam, who is responsible for all peripheral matters within Quiz Brothers, has known Rosanne and Annemieke for years. They got to know each other through BNI and then met regularly at pub quizzes. A few months ago, we interviewed him for the Staal Magazine. What? Did you miss that? You can still read the article here.
When choosing an agency, Jan also contacted one other party. He chose Buro Staal because they had clicked for a longer time and because he heard many positive stories from his network.
“Rosanne and Annemieke are enthusiastic, quick, and reliable. They had a good sense of what I needed and kept a good pace.”

The goal
With the new website, Jan also mainly wanted to inform all parties involved about what the company did and what it could do for them. In addition, he wanted to make it easier for potential customers to show interest. Moreover, he wanted to automate the sales process of DIY quiz and music bingo packages as much as possible. There was actually too much manual work involved in this, which meant that the margin was somewhat out of balance compared to the effort.
THE approach
Based on Jan's wishes, we created an initial design. Based on his feedback, we made some adjustments to this. After that, we were soon able to start filling in content, the WooCommerce product pages, and linking the payment provider Mollie.
Because all DIY packages are semi-customized, it was important that buyers could indicate when they needed the packages by the latest. We have built this as an extra feature in the webshop.
“Our packages are ordered online and paid for immediately. This saves us a lot of actions and therefore a lot of time and work!”

THE result
The Quiz Brothers website went live at the beginning of November 2020. People know how to find the site well. The team is now flooded with requests via the website. Both the number of leads and sales have increased by around 25%. The company also receives many positive reactions from its network. Even from fellow competitors.
Because Jan actively maintains the website himself, he was also very happy with the customized video tutorial. This allowed him to quickly make adjustments himself. And when he did get stuck once, we got him back on track in no time with the 30-day VIP service.
Jan: “Of course, a new website is a considerable investment. But Buro Staal is really great at custom websites that help you achieve your goal. And with this growth in the number of requests and in sales, I expect to earn that investment back quickly.”
